THE SPARK OF THE BEGINNING
Marcel Sifkovits, the CEO of Brainwaveproductions, has carved a distinct niche for himself in the music industry. Known for his dark, gritty, and atmospheric beats, Marcel's journey from a small town in Lower Austria to a global platform is both inspiring and unique. This article delves into his musical journey, influences, and aspirations.
PASSION PATH
When asked what made him start music, Marcel's answer is both personal and relatable: "The COVID pandemic gave me time to reflect, and I downloaded a demo version of FL Studio just to experiment. What started as chopping samples and creating trap beats quickly turned into a serious passion." This period of introspection and experimentation was the catalyst for Marcel's musical journey.
CHILDHOOD INFLUENCE
Growing up in Lower Austria, Marcel was surrounded by a diverse range of musical genres. "I always loved listening to music—everything from rap, hip hop, and trap to punk, pop punk, and techno. That constant exposure to different sounds fueled my passion and led me to start creating my own beats and tracks." This eclectic mix of influences is evident in Marcel's unique sound.
FAMILY AND MUSIC
Despite not coming from a musically inclined family, Marcel's early appreciation and passion for sound were significantly influenced by his family's diverse musical tastes. "My family always listened to a lot of different music, which influenced my early appreciation and passion for sound," he shares.
CREATION OF UNIQUE SOUND
IMarcel's drive to create unique music stems from his desire to stand out and not follow trends. "I didn't want to follow trends or copy what was already popular. My perfectionist mindset drives me to experiment and blend influences from rap, trap, Memphis, Detroit, and phonk, creating beats that are unpredictable and uniquely mine."
PERFECTING THE SOUND
IPerfecting his sound has been an ongoing process for Marcel. He considers the release of his first album, Eternal Brainwave Symphony: Whispers of Eternity, a major milestone in defining his style. "I'm constantly evolving, as growth in music never truly stops," he reflects.
STARTING WITH DAWs
Marcel's journey with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) began during the COVID pandemic. "I downloaded a demo version of FL Studio out of curiosity. I started by chopping samples and building drum loops, and as I experimented more, I realized I had a natural talent for creating beats. What began as fun quickly turned into something serious."
GROWING UP
Growing up in a small town in Lower Austria, Marcel found peace and an escape in music. "Music became my escape, and I'd spend hours with headphones on, connecting deeply with tracks. Those moments shaped the emotional core of the music I create today."
COLABORATIONS AND GROWTH
Marcel's music has opened numerous doors for him, allowing him to collaborate with talented artists like BLEAKHULL, Lil$tyx, KA1TA, Freeway $antana, Yung Figaro, Fatalxrd, and Danu Parise, among others. "These collaborations have fueled my creativity and helped Brainwaveproductions grow as a global platform," he says.
FAVORITE GENRES
When it comes to his favorite genre, Marcel loves making trap beats with dark, gritty, and atmospheric vibes. "I blend influences from Memphis, Detroit rap, phonk, and other genres to create something unique and dynamic."
INFLUENCES
Rap, especially hip hop and trap, has had the biggest influence on Marcel. "Its raw energy, storytelling, and versatility inspired me to start creating my own beats and develop my unique sound." He draws inspiration from artists like Santos Santana, Night Lovell, Freddie Dredd, and the G59 gang, whose dark, atmospheric music resonates deeply with his sound.
THE FUTURE.
Looking forward, Marcel is focused on growing Brainwaveproductions into a global platform by connecting with uprising artists and creating innovative projects. "My goal is to continue producing unique beats, collaborate worldwide, and leave a lasting impact on the industry—while also chasing the bag to keep this dream alive and expanding," he concludes.
