BORN WITH THE EAR OF MUSIC

Despite not coming from a musically inclined family, El Principe’s connection to music blossomed naturally. He recalls, “It just came to me naturally, in my own blood and my own mindset. I was the only person in my family who was interested in the music world.” From a young age, he knew that music was an intrinsic part of him—a force that would shape his destiny.

CHALLENGES OF HIS BEGINNING

The spark that pushed El Principe to create his unique style of music was born from the challenges he faced growing up. His experiences of pain and suffering, particularly being separated from his mother during his formative years, left a profound impact on him. “Not being able to be with my mom at an old age affected me—a lot of pain and hurt inside of me,” he explains. Music became his way of coping, a method to “create something that people can relate to and understand my past and all the things I went through at a young age.”

THE WAVES OF SOUND

Perfecting his sound was no easy feat. It took three dedicated years, from 2021 to 2023, to refine his craft. “It was hard finding the right producer and my genre style,” El Principe admits. But his persistence paid off, culminating in a sound that authentically represents his artistic vision.

El Principe’s journey into music production began with digital audio workstations (DAWs). He discovered them through online tutorials and community recommendations. After getting his hands on an affordable version, he was captivated by the limitless creative opportunities they offered. This pivotal moment marked the start of his venture into crafting unique and deeply personal music.

THE BARRIERS TO WHO HAS BECOME

Growing up, life was far from easy for El Principe. He openly shares, “It was rough, I can’t lie about that. Going through a lot of personal stuff in my life—and one of them was being away from my mom—was one of my hard times.” His mother remains his rock, his biggest inspiration. Her words of encouragement, “Don’t give up on your dreams, keep fighting for it,” kept him motivated even during his lowest moments. He reveals that, although he often considered dropping out of high school, his promise to his mother to graduate kept him going. In 2020, he fulfilled that promise, overcoming the many hurdles life placed in his path.

THE DRIVE

As an artist, El Principe finds his music to be a driving force for his growth and creative exploration. “My music boosts me as an artist by opening new creative avenues, deepening my connection with audiences, and continually pushing me to evolve and refine my unique sound,” he shares. Reggaeton, his favorite genre, has been instrumental in shaping his artistic direction and providing the platform to share his life story through his unique sound. “Reggaeton pushed me to create my true story about myself,” he adds.

El Principe draws inspiration from an array of influential artists whose sounds resonate with his own. He lists Jay Wheeler, Gonzy, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Manuel Turizo, and Mora as some of his top influences, all of whom contribute to his creative spirit. Looking ahead, he envisions his career as an ever-evolving journey, one where he channels his passion for music into innovative production, meaningful collaborations, and new artistic frontiers. “I see my career path as an evolving journey where I channel my passion for music into constant creative exploration, innovative production, and meaningful collaborations that not only push my artistic boundaries but also connect deeply with audiences,” El Principe expresses.
